We’re opening a new chapter at Eagle Lodge: our Round Lake cabin is now available year round, including the upcoming winter season! Our three-bedroom retreat on the Pike Lake Chain gives families and friends a place to gather for summer lake days, fall outings and, now, snowmobiling, ice fishing and cross-country skiing. There’s a good reason to bring the whole crew in every season.
Inside, our open living and dining spaces leave room for shared meals, a game at the table and an evening by the gas fireplace. The large kitchen makes cooking for your group manageable, while comfortable couches and satellite TV invite everyone to settle in afterward. Two bedrooms have queen beds, and the third has a twin-over-full bunk bed. Our bathroom includes a walk-in shower with a seat.
When warmer weather returns, take your cabin time outside to the patio or down to the resort waterfront. We provide guest access to rowboats, canoes and kayaks, along with a sandy beach, playground and shared fire pit. Spend the afternoon on the water and leave a little time for doing absolutely nothing; that belongs on the vacation schedule, too.
Our location along the snowmobile trail makes Eagle Lodge especially convenient for a winter riding trip, and we have parking for multiple sleds and trailers. Back at the cabin, the roomy gathering spaces give your group somewhere to spread out after a day outdoors. Summer boaters have their own practical perks: resort piers with electricity and a fish-cleaning house with running water and a freezer.
Planning a family gathering, group trip or special event? Eagle Lodge and our neighboring Wood Duck cabin share a wall and can be rented together, with $100 off the total price of your combined stay. Wood Duck adds drive-up snowmobile access and a large area for snowmobile suits and gear. Book directly with us to discuss the two-cabin arrangement, your group’s plans and available dates.
Start with Round Lake, our 748-acre home water on the Pike Lake Chain. Walleye, musky, smallmouth bass and northern pike give open-water anglers plenty to pursue, while winter brings the chance to trade a fishing rod on the boat for an ice-fishing setup. Check local ice conditions before heading onto the lake, and plan your fishing around the season and current regulations. Our new winter availability means you can make a full cabin getaway of it.
When trails open, ride into Price County’s network of about 500 miles of snowmobile trails, with connections into Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor and Lincoln counties for longer adventures. Local clubs maintain the system, including the Fifield Sno Drovers, whose membership includes the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs (AWSC). Routes offer wooded turns, marked lake crossings and flatter stretches along former railroad grades. Check the current county and club reports when planning each day’s ride.
The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest adds an expansive Northwoods setting to your outings: more than 1.5 million acres overall, with roughly 860,000 acres in the Chequamegon portion across northwestern Wisconsin. Between exploring the forest’s designated trails and returning to the cabin, work a local meal into your plans. The Big Dipper is approximately 1.5 miles from us, Woods Edge Restaurant & Bar at Moose Jaw Resort about 2 miles, and Musky Jacks about 3.5 miles. Check current hours before setting out.
For a day on cross-country skis, head to Wintergreen Trail off Highway 70 east of Fifield. Its groomed classic and skate-ski routes cross rolling terrain, making it a good choice for skiers who want some hills with their forest scenery. Round Lake Trail offers a different outing: ungroomed winter trails for snowshoeing or backcountry skiing, plus a historic logging dam and interpretive walk to explore in warmer months. Both trailheads require a National Forest parking fee; check conditions and choose a route that suits your group.
